Galanthus nivalis, Snowdrop
Galanthus
nivalis or Snowdrop is one of the first bulb plants to grow in spring.
This Snowdrop

University, close to Bridgeford Building. By the time of the photos all the
flowers were gone but it’s still visible that the plant has spread around
appreciating the good soil conditions and sunlight. There is some competition
in the face of narcissus carpet nearby.
The
snowdrop grows up to 15 cm tall. Each bulb produced two greyish-green leaves
Its flowers
are 15-25mm long with 3 outer segments – pure white and 3 inner segments which
are white with green patch. It flowers from January until April.
